This was an amazing rollercoaster from start to finish! I never quite knew what to expect, the story took twists and turns in all directions, with the added bonus of the relatable struggle of writing and writers.
What I liked:
+ the (not so subtle) critique on writing "bootcamps" such as NaNoWriMo
+ genre blender between thriller, horror, and supernatural elements
+ different shades of LGBTQ+ representation
+ all female main characters and a believable dynamic between them
+ fictional author Roza Vallo in all her eccentrical glory
What could have been better:
- the endingfelt too much like "deus ex machina" to me ,I would have preferred for MC Alex to get out of the situation herself, not being saved by another character
- several passages felt needlessly long, e.g. detailed descriptions of what the women are wearing each day
