I remember thinking when I finished this book a couple days ago that it really had potential but the execution was a bit messy.
And now I’m thinking it’s been just under 48 hours since I finished this and it’s not entirely as memorable as I thought it would be.
Bits here’s what I do remember thinking about it once I had finished:
And now I’m thinking it’s been just under 48 hours since I finished this and it’s not entirely as memorable as I thought it would be.
Bits here’s what I do remember thinking about it once I had finished:
- The plot was very obvious and predictable. I saw the Jake reveal coming a mile away, and it was exactly as lacklustre as anticipated once it occurred.
- Although there wasn’t per se an actual road trip in the story, it was giving off road trip vibes, which I enjoyed.
- Luca’s plotline is a heck of a lot more memorable than what’s her face’s. And I know I could look her name in the synopsis but I am choosing not to because it validates my point.
- The romance was cute but not swoon-worthy, the family dynamics were okay but nothing to write home about and the friendship dynamics, while not what I would consider fantastic were still enjoyable and probably my favourite aspect of the story.
I wanted to like this story so much more than I actually ended up liking it, but I’m not upset at the outcome. I just think it could’ve been better than it was.
