Lana discovers she's a witch and her neighbor at her family's cabin is a vampire. The main plot revolves around Lana trying to discover what happened to her mother, along with strong romantic elements.
What I loved about it was how fast paced it was. The plot started very very quickly. Ironically, I also found this the book's biggest downfall. There was instant love between Lana and Oz. Lana stayed at Oz's house, a complete stranger, the first night she met him. There's a cool fight scene about twenty percent of the way in, but it was over much too quickly.
Because the plot was so quick, I didn't get attached to the world or the characters. Scenes were over in the blink of an eye.
However, the writing is done quite well. The details were involking and interesting. The editing was great, along with the format. This book deserves great success.
I'd give it 3.5 stars, so I rounded to 4.
