My Friend Dahmer by Derf Backderf

5.0

I cried.
I in no way forgive Dahmer or sympathise with any of what he did but its hard to not be sad at the pure ignorance he endured throughout his life, to know if someone had taken more care to check on him, befriend him (properly) etc he might never have become the Jeffrey Dahmer we all know about today, i know it’s all very much a sign of the times he grew up in but its so insightful to see how many things were missed that could have prevented everything.
The last page gave me goosebumps and it was just an emotional read for me personally. Highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys true crime!
