The story itself was really enjoyable and I was hooked. However, the writing was weak in places. The opening read like the beginning of a bad fan fiction with the description of characters down to unnecessary details about their outfits and they way they wear their hair. I was occasionally sucked out of the intense plot by bad writing. It would state things instead of describing them, or describe how Rukhsana was feeling after it had already clearly been expressed in dialogue. I wish this had been through another round of editing before publishing. I was glad at a happy ending, too many LGBTQ+ stories end on a tragic note.
