The Summer I Turned Pretty by Jenny Han
4.0
This book was so much fun to read. It was written so well and brought me back to my childhood crushes immediately. I loved the way she bounced back and forth in the timeline to describe the events between Belly, Steven, Conrad & Jeremiah from kids to teenagers. As the youngest sister, Belly’s relationship with her brother was relatable. I loved the dynamic between Taylor & their crushes as it reminded me of when my friends and I were boy crazy at that age.
This book was able to bring out all of the emotions without ever being too sad or too romantic. It was the perfect story about a girl growing up and dealing with so many things without realizing how to. I loved being able to watch Belly grow and try to figure out who she wanted to be and whether that was for her or for the guy she liked.
I could not put this book down and cannot wait to read the rest of the series.
