In at the Deep End by Kate Davies

4.0

This is a gripping read covering the intricacies of sexuality, sex, self identity, and navigating a controlling relationship. The book is well written and pulls the reader into Julia's mind and relationships. We follow the ups and downs of her life, and whilst we know that the relationship with Sam is wrong on so many levels, Davies writes in such a way that we feel the pull and the contradicting emotions that Julia must be going through.

This is a book I listened to on Audible, and I cannot recommend more listening to the reading by Lucy Briggs-Owen. The narration was amazing, the voices, accents and emotions presented in the reading are impeccable and I was gripped. Listened to the whole book in one sitting!
