I am usually not a fan of horror but I really enjoyed this. Some elements definitely felt predictable, but in the way that you’re kind of hoping for and okay with (mostly in the love-interest department — sorry, but this Pisces is not sorry). While the cause of all the evil spookiness was absolutely original, I’m honestly still a little bit confused by exactly what was going on and how it was supposed to have worked? While it’s not perfect, this was a solid horror read that swept you up through a slow-burn twist on the classic gothic haunted mansion trope.
