Tourmaline (Tori) has just lost her mother, so of course her whole world is going to come crashing down (in the form of her three mystical Guardians) as she pays respects to her mother's faith. What follows is a fun and fast read through an imaginative world.
I liked the basic premise a lot but I feel like maybe this want quite the story the author wanted to tell. The romantic parts seem a bit rushed—like I almost feel like this story should have been more of an epic fantasy instead of a romance. Good writing and interesting characters; the plot pulled me right along.
