This is by far the most approachable sci fi I've read (which I have to admit isn't a ton). It's surprisingly plot driven - they don't spend the first 60% of each story building the world. Instead, the action begins in the first sentence and you figure out the setting through the details. That was probably my favorite part. Starting each one, figuring out the slight shift in normal life, that transformed life as we know it, and then experiencing the effects. This would be great for a book club.
