I enjoy this story and find that the plot twists are not all predictable. This series is perfect for middle school eyes who are wanting to advance their skills. With that being said, as a 21 y/o I am enjoying the story so while this is perfect for adolescent readers, it’s not too juvenile for young adults. There is some vocabulary that is complex however most of them are discernible using context clues. I think this series would be an excellent replacement for classic dystopian books because the grammar is “modern” and I think is much more interesting, thought provoking, and easy to follow compared to the classics. I also think that the main message of the story is very obvious and pertinent to everyone. If you are someone wanting to intentionally diversify your reading this is a good choice. The author is a POC and also writes different cultures into the story.
