I Am a Cat, the Manga Edition: A Cat Without a Name, But with Great Intelligence, Wit and Bite by Natsume Sōseki, Chiroru Kobato

Through a cat’s pov, we follow the lives of an English teacher, his friends, nosy / annoying locals, and other neighborhood characters.

Um, what a weird book?? Not sure I want to read the original after discussing with it witha  friend. There was an interesting mix of characters + plot -- an English teacher with a weak stomach, a big nosed lady who was trying to ruin her daughter’s marriage plans, a scholar who was studying frog eyeballs??, another cat bully who was afraid of farting weasels, and other nonsense. No clue what this book was about but I guess it captures the societal and cultural mindset at the time 🤷🏼 ALSO, the ending?!? wtf 😭
