Confined with Mr. Darcy by Carol S. Bowes, L.L. Diamond

2.0

This is a nice sweet and short story that isn't quite a real story. The problem is the writing and characterizations - there are no clear motivations and hardly any character definitions, neither of which can be excused by the short form of the book. It's not secondary enough to fully rely on the original for the characterizations, but it's not developed enough to stand on its own feet either. The end result is something half-baked and amorphous.

This is my first exposure to the author and the preface makes it clear that this book was published very quickly to fit a charitable purpose, which might explain the half-baked result. I might give this author another chance, but I am a bit wary after this.
