The House of Silk by Anthony Horowitz

4.0

I don't know how it happened, but I finished reading this book in less than 24 hours. Now, I do read relatively quickly, and my day has been a slow; quiet one - but I'm still a little amazed. I kind of wanted to give it 3.5 stars, but as that isn't possible, I felt like 4 was a decent score(at least that's what I feel right now - I might change that when I have the advantage of hindsight). It was a pleasant read, and an unpleasant story. I now feel the need to read the ACD Sherlock books again, but they're stored in my mum's attic, and until then I will delve into its successor, Moriarty. Horowitz writes well, cleverly - but still(obviously) simply. Like stated above, I think I have to read the original works again - as it has been a long time since I last read them - to be able to say if I think The House of Silk was told with entirely the right voice. But right now I'm pleased, and if you are a Sherlock Holmes fan - or a fan of crime for that matter - the book is a must-read.
