emotional reflective sad medium-paced

3.5

Don’t read this one on an empty stomach, as the food descriptions are absolutely sensational, the star of the book honestly. It’s very sad white girl lit but leans heavily into it - both the MC and the author seem aware of their privileges. It asks questions about how women can take up space, push back against their prescribed roles, and whether something is just a performance or having a true impact. Check the content warnings on it though, as it gets heavy, and maybe steer clear if you’re frustrated by self-destructive characters.
