Overall pretty fun. Despite the death and maiming, it was a lighthearted story. Characters were fun, story was fun, smut was ok
While I enjoy a mix of fantasy and contemporary, I think there’s a fine balance to strike and I don’t think modern slang is the way to do it. If I never read “suss” in another fantasy novel, it’ll be too soon
While I overall enjoyed the romance and am fine with BDSM, I don’t quite enjoy dubcon, so if you’re like me, watch out for that
Like I said, overall a fun little ride. I may or may not check out the other books in the series later but it’s by no means at the top of my list
