This was such a delightful read!
I loved the deep dive into public radio, the millennial angst, and of course, Dominic Yun. It's been a really long time since I've read a book that made me laugh out loud several times. I truly enjoyed the romance, the steam, the unconventional, not-often-seen-in-romance characters, and the overall premise/plot.
But there were things I struggled with. First and foremost: the journalistic integrity. I know, I know it's a romance fictional book but also like.... no. Just no! It's just too muddy and considering 1) how public radio is viewed in general, and 2) general distrust in media, I found myself kind of annoyed. I also found Shay to be a bit... neurotic and selfish at times. The ending felt a little rushed and like a hot mess too and the grand gesture makes sense but also I felt kind of.. odd about it?
But I did enjoy the masters banter. It's a huge conversation in journalism, so I liked the inclusion. I also really liked that Dominic wasn't the typical type of male romance lead we see, and I liked that the book ends in a bit of a question mark, because, really, nobody ever has anything entirely figured out.
Overall a great fictional read, with a few things that made me :/, but I really enjoyed it!
