Quicksilver
by Callie Hart
You guys had me believing this was the next best thing in fantasy 😠it was pretty middle of the road.
There was a good plot, but it was buried under too much unrealistic dialogue, unbelievable characters and (for me) too much smut. I like a spice element to be the cherry on the cake, but the spice in quicksilver was more like the icing thickly coating the chapters.
It’s a shame because there were some really good fantasy elements. I’d have loved to stayed in Saeris’ home for longer- I loved the idea of the city divided up by giant walls. The Fae world wasn’t as compelling or original.
Criticisms aside, the action and plot really picks up in the last quarter of the book and it did leave me tempted to pick up Brimstone.
