I'm Glad My Mom Died by Jennette McCurdy

This was a surprise!
I was too old to watch iCarly, but I do remember some bits of episodes from when my little sister would watch the show. Therefore, I got most of the parts about the show that are mentioned in this book. However, that is not the main subject. Far from it.
What I liked the most about this book was the honesty. The author admits when she was angry, jealous and bitter and I love that. I really don't like when people try to present themselves as perfect, as if they are above having flaws.
What got me interested in this book, besides everyone saying it was good, were the subjects addressed: the world of child stars, eating disorders, mental health and abuse at home and at work.
The writing was engaging and at times emotional and funny.
I am curious to see what other book the author will come up with.

Also - not the most important thing but it helps somewhat - the cover is great and the title very bold.
