Bloom Into You Anthology Volume One by Nakatani Nio
3.0
When first finished the main series last summer, I was left with the most peculiar feeling, the kind one only gets after finishing a newly found favorite, that mixture of comforting warmth and distressing hollowness. This is just a long way to say I appreciate these collections of fan works with the entirety of my heart and soul. Getting to reunite with my favorite girls was already lovely enough, but also through other fans/creators' eyes? Knowing and seeing the physical evidence of our shared appreciation and affection for the mere existence of this kind of story, this piece of media? It was remarkable, to put it lightly.
As for this first volume, it was a perfect rollercoaster of emotions that started with fluffy feelings and ended with a sucker punch right to the heart. According to the afterword, it seems like the anthology was created around the time volume 6 was released. All I have to say is that if I had read "fleeting cherry blossoms" before knowing how Yuu and Nanami's story would end... I would have offed someone.
My personal favorites, though, were still the fluffy cutesy ones, for my heart is weak and fragile and should only be handled with extreme gentleness and care ♡
