The Geek Feminist Revolution by Kameron Hurley

2.0

I hardly ever write reviews on the books I read, but if have a lot of thoughts about this one. I was so prepared to like this book, but I couldn't get into it. It felt like the author just didn't conduct the kind of in-depth media analysis necessary to write an honest, accurate analysis of women in science-fiction. The sections in this collection felt less like essays and more like rants, and the author's constant appeals to the reader felt more isolating than unifying. I can respect the writer for her struggle and perseverance, but I cannot hold this collection in high esteem.
