Puck Drills & Quick Thrills by Eden Finley, Saxon James

4.0

Edit: On reread I feel the EXACT same way. Jasper is on my list and definitely my least favorite main character in this series by a mile. This is definitely my least favorite in the series, but still enjoyed it.

I almost didn't read this one. Not because I didn't love this series and wanted to stop, because I loveeee this series so much! But I wasn't super into the idea of this story. Age gaps aren't for me.

But I'm so happy I picked it up! I'm glad I read the conclusion! And I have to say the age gap didn't bother me, except the time they decided to point out that when Jasper was in high school, West would've been in kindergarten. Gross. Never say that again please.

I liked West a lot.

It was nice to get to see his side of everything. And to see him struggling with the kids and Asher.

I wish we got more of his relationship with Asher. I really wanted to see them bond and work through their issues.

Jasper... I don't know. I started off liking him, but his self righteous attitude with Asher after he found out and was pissed, really fucking rubbed me the wrong way.

Do I think it was that big of a deal that West was dating his old professor who he didn't like? No. But do I also understand why he felt hurt? Sure.

But Jasper acting like Asher is just acting like a child and has no leg to stand up on was so fucking annoying and condescending. ESPECIALLY when he then had the audacity to act like a fucking child being all jealous of Ezra. And with how awful he treats his students because he's a child who can't get over his past.

He's a hypocrite and it put such a sour taste in my mouth. Made me like him a lot less.

I do think West and Jasper were good for each other and a cute couple overall though.

I'm rating this higher than the last book, but honestly I'm not sure I liked it more. I think I just didn't like Asher and Kole's story as much as the others and then for this one I had a long enough break in between to just totally fall back in love with this world.

I'm excited to read the next series they wrote of NHL players and see the enemies to lovers story of Ezra and his guy! (Although I found Ezra a bit irritating in this so hopefully that changes lol!)
