This fits into my “women unhinged” category both because of Patricia and Renee.
This was July’s pick for the sapph-lit club and at first I wasn’t really into it, but by the time shit started to hit the fan I was actively giggling and cringing (out of second hand embarrassment and horrible disgust both), and just finished it on a sitting.
I think the fact that Renee just sat and watched the whole thing unfold, was so funny in a weird way.
Still I think there is some sort of “final girl- anti bimbo- anti modernism” propaganda here somewhere, which was like so boring in a sense(????
Still it felt like an A24 slasher film tbh. It’s giving X.
