Did not finish book. Stopped at 41%.
The only thing that I liked about this book was the texts and headlines and of course Macy she's... Just respect for dealing with everyone and everything.
It's getting tiring. The writing instead of getting better is getting worse? I am so sick of Grace and Jaxon!!!! Straight people... You're toxic to each other deal with it! Not Grace b***** about her problems while they lost a friend and not sparing him a thought. She treats Hadson poorly. I mean she demands him to talk to her when she's been ignoring him for weeks when he tried to approach her and be friendly! Now that she's ready she expects everyone else to be. Her not choosing only escalated the situation because let's be honest, she wanted them both! She says " I'm tired of being collateral damage" What? FREAKING XAVIER DIED AS COLLATERAL DAMAGE BECAUSE OF YOUR RELATIONSHIP DRAMA.
SHE SAYS SHE DOESN'T CARE WHAT PEOPLE THINK... YOU CARED SINCE DAY ONE WHAT A BROODING CREEPY GUY THOUGHT OF YOUR EVERY ACTION.
Grace is a terrible friend. You know people that overly apologise and excuse their actions are the guilty ones' right?
She always blames someone else. How can you not see that this is not a friendship? You know it. You just don't want to admit it, but you are hurting other people too! Wanna talk about selfishness? You flirt with him and feed him with illusions and then wonder why you did that? I-
We get it you are clueless... You don't know that Hadson is in love with you. You are the cliche naive protagonist, just don't say it on every freaking page of the book.
She demands Hudson to respect her when she doesn't respect him herself.
The fact that toxic masculinity turns you on Grace is very problematic...
A lot of dry lips and hot in this book... How about chapstick and some ice cubes?
She refers to her deceased parents only when serves her storyline? I mean there haven't gone by even ten months since her parents died... I don' think it deals with grief the best.
Every time Grace's like I know you're hurting and it sucks but I'm hurting more! You can't diminish people's feelings...
What worries me more about this book is that Grace is attending a school and there's not one teacher around. Especially when a fight breaks out. We have a scene lasting like half an hour and not a teacher passes through the hallways, you know you have a supernatural school filled with prays and predators and you wouldn't watch them any chance you have? I get it, it's for the story but it's not realistic and the continuous portrayal of toxic masculinity? They always combat to solve their problems and gain respect and might I add that it's only male characters that do that? A sexist undertone there...
I was promised a strong female lead...Extremely disappointed.
