A Girl Like Her by Talia Hibbert

5.0

Another great read from Talia Hibbert. I really like how she writes non-supermodel women and non-super-rich men and gives them beautiful love stories because, hey, non-models and non-rich guys fall in love, too! And Ruth is a comic book nerd, too - yay! Their story is sweet and believable, tinged with past hurts and injuries but not to the point of super traumatic and broken. Some painful shit has happened in Ruth's past but she's learnt, and she's grown, and the bloke from the past better tread carefully now because Ruth now is way stronger than he is. Loved it!
And another thing that I really, truly love about Ms Hibbert's books is how she has the male characters treat their ladies: always respectful, always offering a chance to say 'no' (and accepting a 'no' for what it is, namely a NO and not a coy invitation). No matter how much they may want their lady - it's with the woman's consent, or it's not happening. LOVE LOVE LOVE!!!!

I much, much enjoyed reading this, and Ravenswood #2 is already hovering to be downloaded to my Kindle ;-)
