Lady Midnight by Cassandra Clare

5.0

I am so happy that Cassandra Clare made a sequel series to The Mortal Instruments. I would've started reading immediately if I wasn't already occupied with other books. I could barely look away from the pages that I was literally in a eat, read, sleep and repeat mode.

I thought the love story between Jace and Clary sucked because they loved each other but they couldn't be together because they thought they were siblings. Then The Infernal Devices was released and I thought, nope, the love story between Tessa, Will, and Jem was even more tragic because both Will and Jem loved Tessa and Tessa was having a difficult time choosing between the two. Finally, we come to Lady Midnight...

This love story is the most tragic out of all three. Julian and Emma are parabati and they're in love with each other when it's against the law for them to be in love. Why is it against the law? Nobody really knows because the Clave is keeping that a secret. My heart kept breaking for these two until the end when my heart just shattered. I don't know how Cassandra Clare will weave this story together but I'm definitely excited, especially since I know I'm going to waiting for a while.
