The second book in the series that inspired the very popular TV show, Bones, is what you would expect and more. With the same feel that the show gives in terms of police work and forensics but obviously more entertainment value than a hour per week on FOX. The Dr. Brennan in the book is, in my opinion, way more lovable, quirky, and relatable than her tv counterpart. In addition the actual forensic learning you get for the books is way more realistic. This second book takes you through so many twists and turns and different settings that it almost feels like more than one book but the ending ties it together perfectly and unexpectedly. The detail the Reichs put into her characters and plots is enthralling and consuming. If you can handle the technical detail with a twisty plot I would recommend this book for you.
