The Cuckoo's Calling by Robert Galbraith

3.0

Not very fast-paced, but it was certainly intriguing in the beginning. I really wanted to make progress but the sheer length of the book placed a barrier in my mind. It was only recently that I got back to reading and I made good progress.

The plot kept brewing and made us expect something brilliant at the end and that didn't happen. That's what let me down. The climax wasn't shocking. And some scenes were boring while others were exaggerated.

I was at a 4 star rating in the first 50% of the book. The third quarter of the book brought it down to 3.5 stars and the end brought it down to 3.

I am a bit excited for the sequel, but I don't think I will read it anytime soon. I want to try out other stuff.
