Another winner in my book! I still have no idea what it is about this series that draws me in and fosters a passion to read the book and forget everything else.

Imogen and the gang are in the Fire Kingdom for Hank and Shaday's wedding. Needless to say, many people are not happy about the wedding including the bride and groom! The Fire kingdom is a bit backwards and treats women as if they are not as smart or strong or capable. I am sure many could understand and relate to what they see in their own lives. There are some intriguing twists about the personal life of Shaday and her hopes and desires for her life. I loved how that story played out in this book.

We also learned more about Imogen's past and how she came to live in the human world vs the magical world through her brother Horace. I could see how Imogen was torn between wanting to know her brother but also doing what was right for the magical world. I am hoping that there might be some redemption for Horace in future books. Plus I'm sure there is more to learn about her past in future books.

Overall a very enjoyable book and I can't wait to read the next book to see what happens next!
