Charming and beautifully written. The characters were interesting but I wish they had a little more depth, each seemed a bit too one dimensional for me. I loved the chapters from Marcellus’ POV, the wit and humour was infectious. I think this could have been a little shorter given how predictable it was, but the predictability added a feel good element that I didn’t mind. I’m a sucker for books with themes of grief and I really enjoyed the found family element here. Overall this was right up my alley.
Graphic: Child death, Grief, and Abandonment
Minor: Ableism
