Pretty Face by Lucy Parker

5.0

This book is a delight. I love the tension between their attraction to each other, their annoyance with each other, and the fact that both are very aware this is not professionally okay. I love that despite the fact that Luc shows his ass early and thoroughly, he realizes his mistake when called out. I love that he calls out people being sexist asshats to Lily. I love the intense threads of family--the family of the theatre, the families you're born with, and the ones you get claimed by. Also, banter! Such banter. Glorious banter.

There are lots of interesting details about the hows and whys of film and theatre, and a great sense of place in the Queen Anne.

And I really liked that their first time together wasn't "mutual orgasms and perfect sex"; it felt very real and I both laughed and winced because oh, I know that situation.

Overall, thoroughly delightful. Also, hot.
