Love Is a Dog from Hell
by Charles Bukowski
I found these poems to be extremely terrible. Despite my attempts to appreciate the language, I couldn't find any beauty or technical proficiency in them.
Just a sexually frustrated man rambling about the women he slept with and using all kinds of derogatory terms to describe them, without even attempting to create any sort of empathy for the character. The inclusion of pedophilia in "Girls in Pantyhose" and "The Girl on The Bus Stop Bench" was so revolting it made me stop reading immediately.
It was such a pain to read.
And no Bukowski, fucking so many women and drinking beer would absolutely not make you a good writer.
