I spent too much of this worried about where it was going (setting up both

the mentally ill neighbour and the asylum seeker

as possible murderers) to relax into the story, but the resolution was pretty good in the end. The writing style had some annoying repetition, often telling us stuff we already knew, but ultimately I quite enjoyed this.
