I've never been happier to have impulse-bought a book without knowing anything about the author or others' reviews of it. The shortest way to my heart is a protagonist like Althea, rightfully angry and apologetic for nothing she does not need to apologize for. Furthermore, I found the concept of the book refreshing - we surely have had plenty of mythology-inspired stories of Olympos under Zeus' reign so it's exciting to see such a take. Let's just say it's a miracle for any author to male me root for Zeus for once and wish for more from him, a better version of him. Time will tell.
Graphic: Death, Death of parent, Kidnapping, Medical trauma, Misogyny, Murder, Sexism, Sexual violence, and Violence
Moderate: Blood, Grief, and Self harm
Minor: Domestic abuse, Emotional abuse, Physical abuse, Rape, Trafficking, and Slavery
Moderate tag for self-harm is for the ritualistic maiming of women's faces that are done partially with their consent to avoid Cronos' attentions and other various reasons that come up in the book.
