3.75/4 stars - Read this book of Kayla’s choosing and it did not disappoint! It was outside of my comfort zone fantasy wise and actually helped me learn more about my little dark fantasy reader friend Kayla😄 My favorite aspect of the book was the fact that the gender roles were quite reserved as opposed to other fantasy books I’ve read. The main female character was tough and needed no saving from the beginning and was quite the crutch for the male main character. She also had such insane charisma and what the kids would call ~rizz~. It was a nice change from the Im a badass but still need male love to save me stories that are so common in the fantasy world. Carissa Broadbent gained a new fan today 🤗
