Aftershocks of Disaster: Puerto Rico Before and After the Storm by Marisol LeBrón, Yarimar Bonilla

challenging informative inspiring sad slow-paced

This took way too long to finish but this is a really comprehensive text (much better than Klein’s Battle for Paradise especially as this is written by actual Puerto Ricans who have indispensable ties to the struggle in the colony therein). I particularly enjoyed the section on community kitchens. Unfortunately the last interview kinda gave a reformist approach to policing which I didn’t like (no one should care for police unions). Glad each section has a different author. In any case the afterword here is going to stick with me for a while.
