It is dark. It is HURT/comfort.  This story grabbed me by the throat.

Tadhg is in the maffia and his whole life he is shaped to follow into his father's footsteps. Tadhg gets shot. Halfway to being a corpse, he gets dumped on Micah's doorstep. His long-lost little stepbrother.

Tadhg: "I'm not just an evil man. I'm a useless one as well. My dad always told me I was a worthless piece of s*** and it turned out that he was right. He's an a******, but he probably knows me better than anyone else."

Micah: "If Patrick (maffia daddy) has spent the last decade being a devil on his shoulder, this is my chance to be an angel. A very gay exhausted angel."

Micah and Tadhg. Both of their voices are very distinctly written. They both squeezed my heart and live there now.
I love the focus on them, their circumstances and their relationship, before the spice kicks in.  And holy fucking shit balls, when it kicks in, the spice is very hot.

The writing style is so damn good.  I am not a taboo reader, normally.  But Erin lures me in like a siren singing the most beautiful song and I am dragged under water before I know it. I am on the sea floor and be like: "Thank you for drowning me, I see now that I wanted to be here."
Erin is an autobuy author for me and they keep leveling up.

Favourite quote:
He takes in a breath and sighs the words, "Oh, honey," escaping his lips like a prayer. Of course, that doesn't help. The absurdity of it -someone calling me, Padraigh Moynihan's pet butcher- 'honey', makes me wanna laugh.
