I didn't know anything about this book before picking it up and I really wish I had read some content warning before doing so. I suggest anyone who wants to read this look up all the content warnings before deciding to read it. I'm able to handle the topics within but the colourful cover with a whimsical blurb made it out to be a very different book than what it was.
Honestly I feel like my emotions around this are mixed. It's well written and was translated really well, I found once I started I couldn't put the book down for a moment. The narrative is strange and the lines between whats real or not are extreamly blurred as the book goes on. I found myself saying 'what the fuck' many times while reading it.
It's a book that has to be experienced rather than talked about so I'm not going to attempt an indepth review. I suggest picking this up if you like strange stories that tackle hard subjects in a way that doesn't romantise them.
