The Lost Apothecary is a standalone historical fiction book that follows Caroline. She has gone on a solo trip to London after discovering her husband of 10 years has been cheating on her. After a chance encounter, Caroline discovers a small glass bottle stuck in the mud. This bottle introduces another story line. This time following Nella, a woman who runs an apothecary in 1790’s London. Caroline spends the story trying to figure out her own life and piece together Nella’s life as well.
This book was an interesting premise. I think I would have enjoyed the book more if I was not in the middle of a reading slump. I can’t seem to get myself motivated to read lately.
