One Last Try by Jemma Croft
4.5
funny hopeful inspiring lighthearted

This book was like eating a warm bowl of mashed potatoes, the perfect crunch on a french fry, and the first bite of the best baked potato you've ever had (potato puns all intentional). I loved this book it was so sweet and joyful. If you are looking for a feel-good small town rugby romance this is THE BOOK for you. Read when you're having a bad day, or when you're having a great day that could actually also get better.

Owen and Mathias go so well together, Owen's solid steadfastness balances out Mathias, and the way they both feel so comfortable and at home with one another was beautiful to watch unfold. Even past their relationship, this book is built up around the love found in small town communities, and I wanted to be adopted into their town. The book so nicely balanced the focus on community and this unfolding relationship with Mathias's career as a professional rugby player, and I think fans of the sport and folks who know nothing about it alike will love the way this book comes together. Rugby may have been what brought Owen and Mathias together, but it is just the beginning of their story.
