Something Wonderful by Judith McNaught

This is my second book by this author and I've decided that she is really good at creating very realistic characters but still manages to write kind of boring books. LOL!

The character of Alexandra is painfully naive in the beginning, but by the end of the book she has truly transformed into a mature woman in a slow progression that is completely believable. Likewise, the character of Jordan changes from a rake to a man in love with his wife. So despite McNaught's ability to create characters that truly seeemd to have lived and grown, the 'action' of the book is where she falls short. She has strong hold on the emotional conflicts - when Alexandra learns about Jordan's philandering past I truly teared up. But the action seems to focus on a lot of misunderstandings (I can take one or two, but this book goes a bit overboard with it) and some murder attempts that really aren't delivered in a suspenseful or thrilling way. In fact, you almost forget about them because they are so brief and not brought up again. The villain is a throwaway character all together.
