The Hanged Man of Saint-Pholien by Georges Simenon

4.0

Short Review: this is the third of the Inspector Maigret stories (mislabeled by Amazon/Audible and others). Maigret accidentally sees what he think might be a crime and starts following a man. The man later commits suicide and Maigret follows the story both to solve the crime and salve his own conscious to see whether his own actions lead to the suicide. This is more about the nature of guilt than the particular mystery.
