Bombay Balchao by Jane Borges

I was going though a reading slump when I got this book. Linked short stories, each of which engaged. But which together told a saga of generations. A saga not of a family but of a building.
I loved the book. The characters, the setting the self deprecating humour, the way it was strung together. And above all the message- shit happens, but life goes on; keep smiling.
