Queen of Myth and Monsters by Scarlett St. Clair

3.0

First off, I love Scarlett’s writing style. It’s an easy flow and very beautiful technique wise. However my gripe with this sequel is that it’s…too much?

Adrian’s character development left me feeling sour.
There is a lot of magic and introduction of new characters and creature - which is super cool - just a little hard to keep track of sometimes.
Isolde’s isn’t that bad, she continues to be a badass woman.

There’s too much going on while reading that I had to re-read some pages just to make sure I understood what was happening.

However that could be a me issue.

I did put the book down for a couple weeks which I did not do with the OG. I am curious what happens next, but in general I think that it was overwhelming at times, potentially abusive between Isolde and Adrian, and I hope more is explained in the next book.

Smut is on point, though, as always.
