I enjoyed this book, I would just preface my recommendation with the fact that the pacing can make it difficult to get in to. There’s a pretty big contrast between the fast pace of the events in what the novel treats as “present day” and the slow pace of the events described in the past. As we learn more about the characters and start to care about them more, the sections of the novel set in the past become more engaging, and by the last third or so of the novel, those past sections speed up since there’s less exposition to cover.
