I LOVE THIS RETELLING.
This retelling of Cinderella is so inventive and unique. Blue is a wonderful heroine, who can most definitely take care of herself. She is smart, kind, and strong-willed, her mission to help the young an impoverished borders on saintlike. Her grief and perseverance are accurate, raw, and real. Per the original story of Cinderella, Blue falls in love with the handsome Prince, but they were childhood friends long before they developed deep feelings for each other. Their love story happens organically, I saw their love grow until it blossomed in a spectacular way. The plot was reminiscent of the classic Cinderella tale, with the addition of fun magical twists, danger, and evil monsters.
