The Star-Touched Queen by Roshani Chokshi

3.0

I will make this review as short as possible because the descriptions in this book are long enough to last e lifetime.
I was intrigued by this book right after the cover revealed, no one can deny that that cover is absolutely gorgeous. Unfortunately, I can't really connect with the story and the world. Every review I have read describes Roshani's writing as "vibrant and poetic" or something like that, and I admit that all of them are true. But sometimes the way Roshani describes things is too excessive, it overwhelms me and I end up confused about what I just read.
India mythology isn't something strange for me, because some of my local folklores are adopted from their legends, so it's not because I'm not familiar with the terms or the way things are.
The characters themselves are okay, I think. No one really annoys me but I'm not that fond of them too. The one that really catches my attention is the grown Gauri. I think the second book is about her? I'll definitely read The Crown of Wishes but I really hope Roshani can make a little bit adjustment in the way she describes things so I will understand them easily :'D
