Anyone But You by Jennifer Crusie

3.0

A fun, frothy, bubbly, confection of a book. Nothing deep here, but what there is is quite nice. Nina's freshly divorced and on her own for the first time. She decides to adopt a perky puppy and ends up with a morose basset/beagle (basseagle? beasset?) named Fred. Fred is the catalyst that brings Nina together with Alex, her handsome--and younger!--downstairs neighbor.

Loved the older woman/younger man dynamic, and Fred was a lot of fun. I did almost throw the book across the room for one point: chocolate is poisonous to dogs. No Oreos for Fred!
