Can't Spell Treason without Tea was...okay. It's a cute little tooth rotting romance that tried very hard to fit into this new cozy fantasy niche that emerged. Problem is...it never could commit. It kept nudging itself into an adventure fantasy with higher stakes and grand battles which...isn't what cozy fantasy is about. In the end, it just didn't feel like it was living up to its full potential on either spectrum. To make things worse, Reyna and Kianthe experience much of the same trials, the same growth, that it much felt like they were the same person. Just one uses magic and the other has a sword. It was hard to tell the difference.
