I think my generous rating reveals my kink. 🤦‍♀️🤷‍♀️ I don't give 5 ⭐ often, which means this clearly did things to me. I'm not 100% proud of those things, but well, here we are.

The command to remain still is a sort of release, permission to not perform, to not give, to only receive.

This book is something like Pretty Woman meets Beauty and the Beast with a lot of 🌶️. I was practically giggling at the bathtub scene because it reminded me so much of Julia Roberts in PW. Not to mention, Julianna/Julia. It can't be a coincidence.

Julianna is tiny inside the massive bathtub built to fit a monster...Her head bobs along to music, tiny earbuds, which I assumed were purchased tonight with my card, in her ears.

I really, really appreciated Graves' commentary on sex work and how she didn't write it in a negative or shaming light, and I loved Jules. Our FMC is an independent, strong-willed woman who has been used by people she trusted most, and instead of crumbling under it, she keeps her spirit strong and fights back.

There was a lot of sex. Yet, somehow, this book manages to also make me care about the plot. I was gripped..if it hadn't been for having to work to make a stupid living, 🎶 I could have read all night, I could have read all night and still have begged [Daddy] for more. I could have spread my...😏 🎶 Nevermind, you get the point.
